Achieve Dual Enrollment is a program for current high school juniors and seniors who attend school and/or live in Orleans Parish to earn college credit. Students eligible for Achieve will be first generation college students and/or are from low-income backgrounds. Students attend class in-person on Xavier's campus and learn from Xavier faculty in Xavier classrooms, supported by Xavier undergraduate student mentors. Students receive academic advising and college preparation workshops from Xavier staff. Achieve is offered in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.Eligible students must be local to New Orleans and meet criteria for demonstrated financial need.Students interested in participating must first contact their high school counselor to indicate interest in taking college courses with XULA Achieve and discuss eligibility requirements. Counselors or principals must confirm student eligibility prior to enrollment in the program. Eligible students must complete an application for admission and provide supporting documentation as outlined by the Office of Admissions. After a student’s application is processed and accepted by the university, students can enroll in college courses according to the schedule agreed by their high school and XULA Achieve.Spring 2026 - enrollment closed. Spring 2026 Course: SOCI 1010, Introduction to Sociology, Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-5:15Summer 2026 - enrollment open now! Students enroll in 2 courses that meets 5 days a week in-person on Xavier's campus, Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Lunch in the Xavier Cafe is included. Achieve students are academically supported with Xavier student tutors and benefit from additional personal development workshops throughout the summer. Summer 2026 Courses: AADS 2000, Introduction to African American History and Culture BSAD 1010, Introduction to Business AdministrationFall 2026 - Enrollment open now! Students enroll in 1 course that meets 2 days a week in-person on Xavier's campus, typically Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:15. Fall 2026 Potential Courses:(courses will be finalized at a later date) English Composition and Rhetoric (English Composition I)Before you begin the application, please gather your documents:
1. High School Transcripts (unofficial is fine) All applicants are reviewed holistically; however, students with a high school GPA below a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) are ineligible for Achieve at this time. Our other Pre-College Programs may be a better fit: XU Pre-College Programs
2. Name and contact information of your high school counselor 3. Financial Assistance: Documents for verification of income, like 2025 tax transcript, tax returns, W-2, and/or 3 recent pay stubs. You will not be able to save your progress and return later.
