Achieve - Dual Enrollment

Achieve Dual Enrollment is a program for current high school juniors and seniors who go to school and/or live in Orleans Parish to earn college credit. Students attend class in-person on Xavier's campus and learn from Xavier faculty in Xavier classrooms, supported by Xavier undergraduate student mentors.

Achieve is offered in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Eligible students must go to school and/or live in Orleans Parish and meet criteria for demonstrated financial need.

Spring 2025 - Enrollment closed.
Continuing Achieve students will enroll in ENGL 1020, Composition and Literature, or, if they have completed their Composition courses, ART 1090 Art Appreciation.
New Achieve students will enroll in ENGL 1000, Intensive Composition and Rhetoric.

Schedule:
ENGL 1000 and ART 1090 - Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-5:15 pm
ENGL 1020 - Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00-5:15 pm, with 1 hour mandatory tutoring once a week

Summer 2025 - Enrollment closed.
June 21 - July 19, 2025, Residential
For the first time, Achieve summer will be a residential program!
Students will earn 6 college credits while experiencing college life in the residence halls. Achieve students will live in community with SOAR X students (also rising juniors and seniors) who hail from all over the country.

Fall 2025 - Enrolling now!
Students enroll in 1 course that meets 2 days a week in-person on Xavier's campus, typically Monday and Wednesday from 4:00-5:15.

ENGL 1020, Composition and Literature

Before you begin the application, please gather your documents:

1. High School Transcripts (unofficial is fine)

2. Name and contact information of your high school counselor

3. Financial Assistance: Documents for verification of income, like 2024 tax transcript, tax returns, W-2, and/or 3 recent pay stubs.

You will not be able to save your progress and return later.

We do not review incomplete applications - supporting documents must be attached to your application.
