Xavier Pre-College Programs hosts a variety of opportunities for middle school and high school students to enrich their academic and social development. Students from across the country pursue their passions in a rigorous academic setting while connecting with peers, mentors, and instructors.
With exciting programs in math and science, Xavier Pre-College offers the unique opportunity to explore an area of interest on a deeper level through in-class discussions, hands-on projects, and cultural explorations. As part of the learning experience at Xavier, students will enhance their educational journey and get a jump start on college life.
Applications open now for Star Sessions and Summer 2025! Star Sessions Saturday Tutoring - These Saturday homework help sessions connect students from 6-12th grade to Xavier student tutors. All New Orleans area students may attend, free of charge. Spring 2025 dates TBA.
2025 Pre-College Summer Programs
June 2 – June 20, 2025 MATHStar I: Algebra - for students who will be entering algebra in Fall 2025 CHEMStar - for students who will be entering chemistry in Fall 2025 PHYStar - for students who will be entering physics in Fall 2025
June 23 – July 11, 2025 Summer STEM Academy - an introduction to robotics for rising 6-8th graders MATHStar II: Geometry - for students who will be entering geometry in Fall 2025 BIOStar - for students who will be entering biology in Fall 2025
June 21 – July 19, 2025 SOAR X - our flagship residential program for rising 11th and 12th graders at least 16 years of age. SOAR X prepares students for college as they live, eat, sleep, and take classes on Xavier’s campus for 4 weeks. Students with an interest in science and medicine will enroll in enrichment classes, prepare for the ACT or SAT, and connect with like-minded peers.
Before you begin the application, please gather your documents: 1. Star Programs/Summer STEM Academy: Latest report card, 500-word essay (see prompt below after program selected) 2. SOAR X: High school transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, 5 short essays (see prompts below after program selected) 3. Financial Assistance: Documents for verification of income, like 2024 tax transcript, tax returns, W-2, and/or 3 recent pay stubs.
